Professional Bio
Missy Scalise, MD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health, Department of Medicine, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC).
She completed her medical degree at the University of Nebraska and internal medicine residency at VUMC. She also served as Chief Resident for the UTHSC/Ascension Saint Thomas Internal Medicine Residency Program.
Dr. Scalise has dedicated her career to medical education and primary care. She served as a full-time primary care physician for eight years and has continued to practice primary care in addition to her leadership roles. She was previously recognized as a Master Clinical Teacher at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
She also served as Associate Program Director and later Program Director for the UTHSC/Ascension Saint Thomas Internal Medicine Residency Program, where she led curriculum development and program improvement. She enjoys being an active member of the American College of Physicians.
