Professional Bio
Mercy Chandrasekaran, MD, joined faculty in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2022. She has a passion for preventative cardiology, women's heart health, valvular disease, lipid disorders, coronary artery disease, heart failure management and imaging, including transthoracic/transesophageal echocardiography and nuclear stress testing. Dr. Chandrasekaran’s research interests include stress-induced cardiomyopathy, heart failure and aortic stenosis. She did medical school at JMF’s ACPM Medical College in Dhule, India. She completed her internal medicine residency and cardiovascular medicine fellowship at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she served as chief resident and chief fellow. Dedicated to obtaining best patient outcomes while optimizing a strong, collegial team-based approach, Dr. Chandrasekaran serves on various committees and enjoys teaching residents, fellows and nurse practitioners.
