Michael Sedhom
Interests

Michael Shehab Sedhom was born in Egypt, raised in Sultanate of Oman, and is fluent in Arabic. He immigrated to the United States 13 years ago, and has since become an active member of the thriving Coptic Orthodox community in Tennessee. Michael is a graduate of East Tennessee State University’s Quillen College of Medicine. Michael’s interest in medicine began at an early age, and was shaped by personal experience. As a child, he suffered an asthma attack and was cared for by his father, a physician, who initially sparked his fascination with medicine. His older sister, a fellow Quillen College of Medicine graduate, also inspired and encouraged him to follow in their path. Their guidance helped pave the way for his own success in medical school. Beyond his clinical interests, Michael has a passion for public speaking and regularly gives talks and sermons at various gatherings, particularly within the Coptic Orthodox Church. In his free time, he enjoys singing, playing the violin, and oil painting. He has also picked up beekeeping as a new hobby!
