Olga grew up in a mid-sized town in Belarus. After immigrating to the United States, she worked as a server in Florida while earning her BA in Psychology at the University of South Florida. After college, she spent four years in a molecular biology research lab, which piqued her interest in a career as a physician-scientist. She then moved to Columbus, Ohio to join the OSU Medical Scientist Training Program where she completed her MD and PhD in molecular cardiology studying RNA binding proteins in regulating cardiac muscle cell biology. Olga is now excited to join Vanderbilt and the Harrison Society with the goal of becoming a cardiologist-scientist. She is passionate about cardio-oncology, women’s health (specifically gender differences in cardiovascular disease) and advocacy against domestic violence. Outside of work, Olga enjoys spending time outdoors with her partner, two stepsons, and their dog Jack, whether running, hiking, or biking. She loves traveling, karaoke, learning new recipes and exploring new restaurants.
