Rachel Gorham
Interests

Rachel was born on a snow day in Dallas, Texas - an implausible origin story. She attended college at the University of Texas at Austin where she also earned her EMT certification and worked nights as a Patient Care Technician. After graduation, Rachel bicycled over 4,000 miles from Texas to Alaska as part of Texas 4000 for Cancer to raise money and awareness for cancer research and support services. She then worked as a medical assistant and backpacked western Europe prior to starting medical school at Dell Medical School at UT Austin. While at Dell, she earned her Master's degree in Health Care Transformation where she learned how to practically implement value-based care and conducted research in oncology patient-centered outcome measures. Rachel has a love for poetry and aspires to become a physician-writer one day, but her biggest joy in life has to be her husband Mark, followed perilously close by her adopted cat, Roy Kent.
