Professional Bio
Ryan D. Byrne, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, Department of Medicine, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) and specializes in adult congenital heart disease and pediatric heart failure/transplant. Prior to joining VUMC, he completed sub-specialty training at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, in pediatric cardiology, pediatric heart failure/transplant, and adult congenital heart disease. His clinical and academic interests include management of heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and heart transplantation in adults and children with complex congenital heart disease and advanced circulatory failure. In addition to caring for adults with congenital heart disease at the Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute, Dr. Byrne also practices with the pediatric heart failure/transplant program at the Pediatric Heart Institute at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
