Sammi was born in Mumbai, India and lived in Hong Kong until 2000 when her family moved to Boston. After two years, they fled the cold to the sunny south and she has been in North Carolina ever since. She hopped from high school in Chapel Hill to college at North Carolina State University in Raleigh and then to medical school at Duke University in Durham- completing her tour of the Triangle. Through her clinical research in metabolic genetic diseases she discovered her interest in supporting long-term survivors of pediatric illness through adolescence and adulthood. In her free time, she enjoys baking (macarons specifically), figure skating, thrift shopping, and perusing Netflix without ever successfully committing to something to watch. She is thrilled to join the Vanderbilt community and explore a brand-new city!
