Sarah grew up in North Alabama just outside of Huntsville, home of the Space and Rocket Center. She then attended Auburn University for undergrad with initial plans of becoming a veterinarian; hence, her bachelor’s degree in wildlife sciences with a pre-veterinary concentration. After spending all her college summers working at Camp ASCCA, an adaptive summer camp for individuals of all intellectual and physical abilities and getting bitten by a cat as a veterinarian technician, she decided to pursue a career in medicine and attended the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama. There, Sarah developed her passion for patient-centered care, medical education, and all things internal medicine. Outside of medicine, she enjoys camping on the weekends, eating samples at Costco, and spending time with her husband, Preston, and their three dogs.
