Professional Bio
Sengo Viswanathan, MD, is a Clinical Fellow in the Division of Geriatric Medicine, Department of Medicine, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
He was born and raised in Southern India and completed his medical education at the Government Medical College, Coimbatore. He earned a Master's in Pharmacology at the University of Delhi and then moved to the US to pursue medical research. He worked in oncology clinical trials in New York and then pursued translational research at Vanderbilt Allergy/Pulmonary Medicine. He completed internal medicine training at the University of Tennessee/Saint Thomas program in Nashville and is now excited to train in geriatric medicine at Vanderbilt.
Dr. Viswanathan is passionate about critical care and ICU delirium in the geriatric population and he plans to pursue a career in academic medicine. He enjoys teaching residents and medical students and looks forward to working under the mentorship of Vanderbilt geriatricians.
