Professional Bio
Sharon Ong'uti, MD, MPH, FACP, joined Vanderbilt University Medical Center an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases in 2022. A Fellow of the American College of Physicians, she is board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. Dr. Ong'uti completed her Infectious Diseases fellowship training at University of Texas Health San Antonio, and subsequently completed sub-fellowship in Antimicrobial Stewardship at Stanford University.
She has a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Ong'uti came to VUMC from Southern Illinois University where she served as an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine and as an Associate Clerkship Director for Internal Medicine. She is a board member of the Society of Bedside Medicine and is passionate about medical education. She currently serves as Associate Program Director of the Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program.
