Professional Bio
Thomas R. Batemarco, DO, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Section of Hospital Medicine within the Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
After graduating from medical school at NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine, he pursued a residency in Internal Medicine at New York-Presbyterian/ Queens. He has worked as a hospitalist since finishing residency, in settings ranging from a small critical-access hospital in upstate New York to major tertiary care center at Hackensack University Medical Center. These experiences broadened his perspective on patient care and the challenges of delivering high-quality care across differing health systems.
At Vanderbilt, Dr. Batemarco is dedicated to patient-centered hospital medicine and has a strong interest in teaching medical students and residents. He is passionate about clinical bedside teaching, mentoring learners in the development of sound clinical judgment, and supporting the professional growth of future physicians.
