Professional Bio
Toddra S. Liddell, MSN, is an Assistant in Medicine in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Her research involves working with primary care providers in early recognition and evaluation of chronic kidney disease, which is associated with substantial morbidity and mortality and affects more than 20 million adults in the United States. Liddell is also interested in depression in minority populations, who are at greater risk for developing depression mainly due to lack of medical access, the stigma associated with depression, and inadequate medical management of depression. Liddell would like to develop research by collaborating with local faith-based groups and community organizations to help identify ways to improve treatment for depression in minority populations.
