Professional Bio
Tyler Reese, MD, is an adult and pediatric rheumatologist with a primary faculty appointment in the Division of Rheumatology and Immunology within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He has a secondary appointment in the Department of Pediatrics’ rheumatology division.
He attended medical school at The Ohio State University, where he graduated summa cum laude. Following medical school, he did postgraduate training at VUMC and Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt where he completed an Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Residency, Chief Residency in Internal Medicine, and a combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Rheumatology fellowship.
His interests include effective transitions of care for patients with rheumatic disease, and undergraduate and graduate medical education. He is working to develop a transitions of care program with a particular focus on complex patients and those with rare diseases. He has been involved in undergraduate medical education through the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine as a Case Based Learning (CBL) facilitator, Physical Diagnosis (PDx) instructor, and a Shade Tree Clinic preceptor.
He has been involved in graduate medical education as a regular speaker for the Internal Medicine residents and as a member of the American College of Rheumatology Fellow-in-Training subcommittee. He is currently pursuing a Master of Education in the Health Professions.
