Uzochi was born in the Chicago suburbs, where he grew up alongside his four siblings. He attended college at Harvard University, majoring in Integrative Biology and minoring in African American Studies, and conducted stem-cell research at Boston Children’s Hospital. After graduation, he remained in the Boston area for a year to work in the nonprofit space before returning to the Midwest to attend medical school at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!). His clinical and academic interests include combined rheumatology, transitions of care, nutrition counseling, medical education, and health equity. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys listening to music and making up for his mediocre basketball skills with exceptional trash talk. Fun fact: Uzochi is a twin!
