Professional Bio
Ashley Rowatt Karpinos, MD, MPH, is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Internal Medicine and Public Health within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She has secondary appointments as Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Academic General Pediatrics and Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery in the Division of Sports Medicine. She graduated summa cum laude from Kenyon College with Highest Honors in Molecular Biology. At Vanderbilt, she graduated Alpha Omega Alpha from medical school, completed residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics (Med-Peds), completed a Quality Scholars Fellowship and a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship, and received her MPH. Dr. Karpinos practices primary care med-peds and sports medicine. She is the Program Director for the Vanderbilt Med-Peds Residency Program and team physician for the Vanderbilt cross country, swimming, and track and field teams. Her clinical and research interests are in the primary care of athletes and female athlete health.
