Research

Hospitalist investigators are actively involved in interdisciplinary research related to quality improvement, patient safety, implementation science, care transitions, medication management, and health communication. A well-developed research portfolio includes extramural funding from the NIH, AHRQ, CMS, PCORI, and VA. Hospitalist faculty play leadership roles in: 

• Center for Clinical Quality and Implementation Research 
• Center for Effective Health Communication 
• Center for Health Services Research 

Faculty actively collaborate with other research programs in: 

• Center for Quality Aging 
• Department of Biomedical Informatics 
• School of Nursing 

These established relationships ensure that our faculty have a broad pool of collaborators and mentors from which to draw.
